PM’s CALL ON RELIGIOUS SENSITIVITIES HAILED!

I have always believed that we should keep our places of worship out of politics as the places of worship are there for us to worship the Almighty!

Not for us to abuse for our selfish clandestine operations and political agenda!

During my days as a ‘Theolog’ I remember my lecturers in Islam took us for visits to the various Mosques in Singapore, in Australia or the UK where we observed the prayers, we shared in various discussions with the religious elders and Imams before sharing in a meal!

Of course certainly we were attired in the right manner and observed all that was right and necessary as not to hurt any religious sensitivity of our Muslim brethren!

But that was in the 70’s!

Fast forward – to present day realities.

Several years ago we celebrated Petaling Jaya becoming a city and there were various ceremonies and gatherings of ecumenical dimensions and the church I worship in was selected for such an ecumenical gathering.

Since I was at that material time the People’s Warden and Deputy PCC Chairman at the church I was tasked in coordinating the event and liaised with the city officials!

The main event was held in the church with the attendance of leaders of all mainstream religions, senior ministry officials, the presence of several ministers that included Donald Lim and Star’s Wong Chun Wai!

For the said event I wore my Baju Melayu complete and my opening address was in Bahasa Malaysia!

Of course it did cause a stir in some quarters but generally it was a successful event!

The meal in the compound afterwards was painstakingly prepared to accommodate the rights and interests of all believers and parties – Muslim, Non Muslim, Hindus and Vegetarians!

It was a success as it embodied the principles of Prime Minister Najib’s 1MALAYSIA!

It is true that as long as we do not politicize houses of worship such as mosques, surau, temples and churches, we will continue to live in harmony in this country!

But the truth is post General Election 2008 there seems to be an adrenaline jump by certain quarters quick to politicize each and every issue and where there are no issues controversies are fabricated, photographs tamped and urged on by impatient and discredited politicians and politicians who have lost political power aided by a biased mainstream racist vernacular newspaper!

We also have today the Malaysian version of the KKK on the rampage!

As such it is only timely that the call I made in 1988 for a Race Relations Act become a reality!

We need legislation to control the political adventurers and predators in our midst!

If not our already polarized society will be further fragmented!

This is also why I believe the statement by Premier Najib yesterday in Gombak, Selangor was timely when he urged all Malaysians to observe the principle of mutual respect and avoid trampling on racial and religious sensitivities.

Najib was right that this principle was important to ensure harmony in the country and at the same time, prevent extreme or anachronistic feelings.

It is pertinent that all parties not hurt the feelings of one another or one’s religions!

It is also important that the authorities and institutions responsible for justice, law and order should also play a proactive role and warn politicians across the board not to abuse the situation for political agenda by making police reports and carrying huge banners with seditious words inciting and threatening violence!

In fact – immediate action should be taken immediately against any quarter irrespective of their political affiliations!

This will address public perceptions that there are two sets of laws operating in the country!

It is also important that non Muslim politicians take into cognizance the various religious guidelines and religious sensitivities!

The Prime Minister’s appeal to all and sundry that one should refer to the Quran, hadith and the ruling made by the National Fatwa Council at its 90th meeting in March this year, that non-Muslim tourists entering mosques and their prayer halls must first obtained permission from the management of the mosques, and must be properly attired (covered up) and behave properly.

That only Muslims could give speeches or talks in the mosques or surau, so if non-Muslims did that, it would be against the hadith.

Most importantly that in Selangor we all respect Section 3 of the Selangor Islamic Law Administration Enactment.

FUGITIVE SOOSAI CAUGHT WHAT ABOUT FRAUDSTER BALA DEVAN – POLICE ASKED!

Syabas to the India police for nabbing Malaysian fugitive Michael Soosai, the alleged master fraudster who faked his death in Malaysia about a decade ago, and was linked to the murder of a Malaysian in south India, who was tracked down by sophisticated technology!

It is being stated that following a slick three-month operation, the 47-year-old fugitive was nabbed at a Chennai hotel!

Interestingly a special Cyber Crime Cell meticulously monitored Soosai’s movements using technology which tracked his mobile numbers to the vehicles he was traveling in.

But you do not need that for Malaysian lead conman and fraudster Brickfields ‘Kannan’ Bala Devan Theaivendiram who today travels either in public transport or in the Red White Taxi driven by his sidekick Taxi Driver ‘Vasu’ or in a private car belonging to another sidekick ‘Abdul Karim!’

Third parties are now coming together to place a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this ’self righteous’ conman who has hurt many!

Today their lives are in tatters but Malaysian Bala Devan Theaivendiram is still at large!

But I am advised by officials at the Home Ministry – not for long!

Perhaps the Indian Police can help in finding answers to some of these Questions:

1. Who gave him that confidential letter of award between Malaysian and India?

2. How did he get control of the total specifications, drawings, pricing of the entire Seremban to Gemas project which he attempted to sell at RM5 Million at one time but had no takers?

3. Who gave him the two letters claimed to be Ministry of Railway’s Railway Board letters? (See Blog posting part 4 on this subject) Was that leak from the Ministry of Work? 

4. Who gave him that recent letter written by Ircon International Managing Director to Malaysia’s Transport Minister?

5. Who is A.P. Misra and what is his role in all these allegations? Is he also a victim or a player? Who is this Daisy too? Who were his link in Ministry of Railways India and IRCON if any? What was Tamil Nadu’s role in this?

6. Who were the other directors of Zen Bridge Sdn Bhd and Era Phoenix Sdn Bhd with Bala Devan s/o A. Theaivendiram?

I am certain in the course of police investigations both here and in India all these matters will be pursued and revealed leaving no stones unturned!

DEMONSTRASI ANTI MALAYSIA – MANA JAGUH DEMONSTRASI KITA?

Reports are still received by this writer from friends in the international media in Jakarta that the anti-Malaysia demonstrations in front of the Malaysian embassy at Jakarta are continuing!

This time it is alleged that the students represented the Jakarta law undergraduate’s movement.

These undergraduates defiled the Malaysian flag with egg, set fire to it and hurled it into the compound of the embassy.

They were alleged to have also thrown rotten eggs and salted fish into the embassy compound and defiled the name plaque of the embassy with wheat flour and rotten salted fish – strange combination though?

Several of them carried banners which bore words condemning Malaysia, saying diplomacy was dead and wanting Malaysia to be “crushed”.

Like elsewhere where these kinds of demonstrations are subtly supported by ‘the powers that be’ for the domestic political agenda while claiming innocence in the international and diplomatic fronts – these childish and stupid pranks were monitored by policemen.

But what surprises me is where is our version of KKK, or the youth wing of a dominant Malaysian political party that usually calls for demonstrations in front the US Embassy?

Where are our professional ‘Jaguh Protestors’ and others who spend most of their time making police reports - a recent political phenomenon in Malaysia for ‘out of work (read contracts) politicians?

Where are the politician infested masquerading NGOs?

Not even a whisper?

These seems to be a sad deadly silence as our beloved Jalur Germilang is being torn and tattered at a time we are celebrating our 53 Independence?

I am aware that Wisma Putra for some inexplicable reason is in comatose while even the ‘Father of Malaysian Racism’ so quick off the block to condemn Singapore and alleged western prejudices and evil seems to suffer the same ‘eloquent silence?’

I am glad that our beloved Prime Minister has made a strongly worded statement and I hope others in the Malaysian cabinet follow likewise!

We must remember the Jalur Germilang is our pride and our honor no two ways about this!

The least we can do is record our utmost regret at the Indonesian embassy and recall our Ambassador there!

The DJs, the spin masters, the politicians and ball polishers can paint a picture that all is glossy, well but is that true?

Is it not true that because of the actions of several layers of idiots, among them inconsequential and unheard of politician wannabe, the Malaysian version of the KKK, past political warlords, impatient politicians wanting to comet into high political office fanning religious and fanatical slogans has resulted in a Malaysia more divided than ever by racial, religious and even personal hatred?

Those of us from the PRE-MERDEKA generations cannot but be so saddened that today after 53 years of independence certain political predators and their cyber-troopers are fomenting racial and religious intolerance and hatred among Malaysians!

It is high-jacking and destroying the 1Malaysia policy and plans of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak for the nation!

In short these activities are undermining the good administration of the Premier and no two ways about it!

These undesirable actions are undermining the constructive grassroots work initiated by many to win back political support by sheer hard work!

You do not have to be a political scientist to know that today opposition held states are  constantly under siege and attacks by racists, political predators and foes who constantly fabricate, indulge in lies, create anxiety, divisions and tensions and to whose interest and agenda?

Are today’s internet and knowledge savvy voters going to be fooled by these childish and amateurish pranks by those who think these actions will win votes!

My foot they will!

Many are asking are political predators and schemers behind these lies so stupid and bankrupt of ideas that they have no political vision, a plan of action rooted in constructive criticism, constructive, sincere and dedicated grassroots service and work to win back lost vote banks rather than resort to manipulating one race and religion against another?

I fully agree that those who engage in such misdemeanors are totally mental and spiritually bankrupt!

Or are they indulging in these acts because they think they are above the law, are protected by political warlords and godfathers or after finding out that the political landscape in Malaysia has changed demanding transparency, good governance and accountability and they are politically, academically and by stature unable to hold a candle to those who have replaced them so they want back power by creating chaos?

I am pleased to hear the strong rebuke our Justice Minister issued to these quarters!

It is my humble appeal to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to issue a strong warning to all and sundry that these actions carried out will not be tolerated and be immediately stopped!

HONORIFICS REMOVAL - HRH SULTAN SELANGOR HAS DONE RIGHT!

Some may consider it a ‘rare move’ as in law - ‘a person is deemed innocent until proven guilty’ but I feel that it was the right move and once again, Selangor takes the lead!

The move gives new impetus, a higher expectation and demand that those having honorifics stay free from all forms and nature of unlawful activity!

Its leadership by example!

Our beloved, HRH Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Abdul Aziz Shah has set the precedence and it is pertinent that this is followed through throughout the nation!

In this case, we are advised that the decision was taken as the two herewith concerned are facing criminal charges in relation to the Port Kang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal.

It is true that the charges involve serious offences that affect the interests of the people and the country!

It is now pertinent that others in similar situations irrespective of position, political or otherwise not just from Selangor but throughout Malaysia are accorded the same action!

POLITICAL WAR GAMES SERVING WHOSE INTEREST?

On the eve of Malaysia’s 53 Merdeka celebrations the Father of Malaysian Racism continues what he is good for - blatant racists statements which undermines Prime Minister Najib’s 1Malaysian vision!

This political reject aspires now to be included as a spokesman for Middle East Peace Plans!

Perhaps, many have forgotten that ‘Charity starts at home!’

On the other hand - If there is seriously a count on the number of police reports made by politicians and aspiring politicians and even those hiding under various shades of NGOs post GE12, I am certain the figure would be strangely high and shocking!

Even strange when they are initiated at a time we are expected to spend our days and nights in prayer, fasting silent reflection and good deeds!

Time spent reading and reflecting on the rich spiritual message!

But no, sadly just days before we celebrate not only the nations 53 Independence there are still politicians shouting political slogans, making seditious statements and acting in a manner that threatens public order!

Worst – the language on the banners are not only vulgar but incites violence!

They allege ‘chaos’ or ‘religious conflicts’ but seriously who is going to initiate them or most importantly, who is indeed fanning such sentiments?

And whose political interests would it serve for such happenings when we are struggling to be internationally competitive, lobby strategic foreign development investment and move towards a developed nation?

I thought after the infamous ‘Cow head fiasco’ lessons may have being learned!

And what is the message by these young inexperience and inpatient politicians or worst message from the old and assumingly retired when they either try to resurrect the past or continue yet on a racist frolic of their own when the political climate and circumstances have drastically changed – socially, economically and politically?

The fact is these actions by yet another few or a mainstream vernacular newspaper are not going to help win back states that have being lost but may create a scenario of a backlash not against their targets - but against those financing, planning, aiding and abetting these political demonstrations in the forthcoming general elections!

We have failed to pause, listen and engage!

We think that by political wars games and vulgar racists lies carried in print and interviews will win elections!

We are wrong!

Some seem to have forgotten what MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN means?

I have said this before and I say this again – let us not lose elections because of ‘political predators and idiots’ who go on a frolic of their own embarrassing the federal government, senior party heads and undermining serious politicians and others working behind the scenes to win back lost support by sheer dedication and honest hard work!

On the eve of our 53 Merdeka Celebrations - I appeal to Premier Najib Tun Razak and both Ministers of Home Affairs and Justice to send the strongest message that these kinds of demonstrators, demonstrations and incitement be stopped in the national interest!

HELP STOP THESE RACIST’S WAR GAMES NAZRI URGED!

Let us start with the right legal premise!

If there are allegations it must be first investigated before various quarters among them disgruntled and defeated politicians and their respective political parties, racists groups and a lead mainstream newspaper whose priority these days seems to be to carry racial bent sensational stories in their dosage of hate carry out a trial by media!

It does not help the efforts and slogans of 1Malaysia nor the claims of our lead politicians who sing political homilies saying we have zero tolerance for racism and racists statements and yet are slow to come off the block when these issues transpire as it did in Johor and Kedah recently – just weeks before we celebrate our 53 year of independence and in a time where we are being royally embarrassed by the burning and malicious sacrilege of our national flag in Indonesia!
Two vernacular newspapers and a racists pressure group have being in the thick of these ‘hate stories’ and no prizes in guessing who they are!

If the agenda is to raise anger among certain racial groups to regain lost support – let me tell you - it is not working as even a ‘mental retard’ can read through these amateur statements and actions!

The script is out dated, stupid and a political over-kill!

Worst it hurts efforts by independent groups and individuals (like this writer!) working behind the scene to regain lost support!

Today Indians and Chinese do also read these vernacular newspapers!

So I cannot but laud my dear friend - Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohamed Nazri Aziz’s statement that any quarters or individuals who make statements which touch on the sensitivities of other races and religions must bear the consequences when the action is reported to the authorities!

I am happy to hear that action will be taken against any quarter regardless of race or position!

I agree with my learned friend’s contention that we cannot accept ‘misinterpretation’ as an excuse. It involves ‘public perception’ and therefore all of us must be careful!

No one has a monopoly – love begets love, as does respect, tolerance and sensitiveness!

Perhaps, we can start by a warning to Utusan Malaysia and various racist groups, to tone down their ‘political war games’ as it does not help 1Malaysia’s efforts at addressing polarization and race relations, neither does it open the floodgates to an avalanche of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country with all these front page byline and race related stories!

My prayer and appeal is that these groups do not ruin the peace and goodwill we all share for their narrow vulgar political agenda and insecurity!

It is pertinent that opposition politicians also refrain from indulging or encroaching into areas that are prohibited, taboo or politically incorrect that can be manipulated by political predators and opportunist for their narrow political agenda!

Perhaps, dear friend Nazri – a person who tolerates no nonsense will see to it that the Cabinet Committee on Law Enforcement which he chairs having on its membership the presence of Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim, inspector-general of police Musa Hassan and attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail will exercise a zero tolerance at any action that threatens the delicate social fabric of our nation!

HOME AFFAIRS MINISTER HANDED CONMAN BALA DEVAN DOSSIER!

I am advised - India’s lead newspapers have taken interest in this scandal - and following my blog and Malaysia’s lead Media revelations on conman ‘Kannan’ – Bala Devan who claims links to politicians and civil servants in India!

A 30 page dossier on Malaysia’s lead conman and pathological liar, Brickfield’s Scott Road’s ‘Kannan’ or Bala Devan s/o A. Theaivendiram 57 has been handed over to the Home Affairs Minister!

While - lead newspapers continued its coverage on this fraud urging to Police to apprehend this 57 year old who has cheated many individuals and companies!

Notorious  Bala Devan who is still at large had claimed he is connected to the powers that be both in Malaysia and India and in a position to give out various government multi million project packages and the Seremban to Gemas Double Track Project and the Malacca to Tampin and other rail jobs which includes the refurbishment of KTMB’s carriages!

To date it is alleged more than RM7 Million has been collected over the last 12 years!

A copy of the said dossier will also be sent to the Tamil Nadu Government and the Ministry of Railway’s India!

The dossier contains a comprehensive exposure of the various police reports against @that swine (a term of endearment from one of his victims!)  and other evidence – the more than a decade of fabrication, fraud, cheating, swindle that left a trail filled of innocent victims, lawyers, unemployed, contractors, industry captains, businessmen and women, and others!

Unemployed Bala Devan did not stop there as his passion for luxurious living and women went beyond as he also cheated the ‘little people’ of between RM1000 –RM5000.

People like hair dressers, kindergarten teachers, 4D operators, single mothers and widows!

Nothing was sacred to this pathological liar!

He even used payments for his aged mother’s dialysis as an excuse to ask for monies from unsuspecting victims! That is how low he will go!

He also preyed on those who spent their time on social chats.

Now with all these documentation and victims coming forward it is just a matter of time before him and his accomplice – one ‘Abdul Karim’ is caught and charged!

This saga has moved in circuit linking Malaysia to India, its Ministry of Railway, the Railway Board, and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Office and in Malaysia the Ministry of Works and IRCON office at KL Sentral and KTMB!

It is a trail of deception, deceit, of lies.

It was a trail left behind by a professional conman and fraudster, a womanizer, smooth talker who speaks several Indian subcontinent languages, who loves gambling, his drinks – Blue Label Whisky and his cigarettes Dunhill!

One of his victims today told – ‘All I did was introduce him to my friend Arvind and he manipulated that young man who is married to the Tamil Nadu CM’s daughter!

And suddenly - Arvind is ‘his nephew!’

Recently, there are also allegations that Bala Devan has being issuing threats against those who spoke out against him which includes me!

More Police reports are expected and pressure added to bring him to justice!

Instead of issuing death and bodily harm threats, he should have the courage, decency and ethical value to face his victims and their mountains of documentary evidence and paper trail at Bukit Aman!

Instead of doing so he continues to run and hide under the ’skirt of his mistresses’  for the coward he is and has been after ruining so many people’s lives and professions!

A living disgrace to friends and family as several angry creditors, brokers, companies and contractors are looking for him!

Meanwhile we still ask:

BERI SEDEKAH – NAK MEDIA NAK PUBLISITI NAK MENTERI DATANG (RIAK!)

I want to thank the numerous email writers who echoed their strong undivided support to the trend of the statement made yesterday on donations and ‘hand-out events’ involving the marginalized communities in the country!

It is just not political parties that are caught up in this despicable practice but government agencies, NGOs and the so called charities and cooperatives set up with government allocations, public donations and funds!

I have always stated that even Consumer bodies of late are caught up in this web!

I have always stated that we cannot and should not mix charitable activities and politics as the integrity and accountability of both will be at stake in view the manner things are undertaken in Malaysian corridors!

We have heard of abuse of such charities to plump blow politicians and their wives for photo shoots and for their political agenda!

We have heard of politician’s wives who insists that they get the same positioning as their  politician husband at government and public events and ‘hell breaks loose’ if that does not happen!

We have heard of the monies gone missing from donations after human and environmental disasters!

Of late, I heard a rumor that even a consumer body was being investigated for ‘corruption and abuse of public funds!’

It was a culture shock to me!

These things were never heard of during the days I started as a consumer advocate in the seventies in Penang!

After more than 35 years - true we have consumer groups and consumer groups today!

And we sometimes find it strange that there is little difference between the manner their public statements are worded as they seem so familiar to one that is released by a political party or ‘politician wanna be!’

But coming back to the manner we manage issues pertaining to the poor, the marginalized, the single mothers, the orphans, donations – there must be care and sensitiveness!

Just because they are poor does not mean that we drag them through a massive published media photo shoot of cheques and handouts being given by beaming politically rich and famous politicians or their wives!

Why do we need a photo shoot if the intention is to genuinely help?

Why do we need to highlight the event as if it is a success story when in actual fact it is a shame that we have such target vulnerable groups in our midst!

The same goes when we use a political shoot for handouts from the Malaysian public for operations and medical intervention schemes when we already have an ever ready Ministry of Health, Malaysia who will be only too happy to assist in real situations!

On the same note is the functions, the open houses and handouts also reflecting Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s 1Malaysia concept?

At the time of writing there is so much political spin on what we are doing in West Asia and now Pakistan!

Well done but are we being fair and consistent in this?

I did not hear the same emphasis for assistance and political spin elsewhere when disasters strike as in Sri Lanka?

True it is difficult to today differentiate between an honest heartfelt response and one from a political predator or his ever scheming wife!

But charity starts at home – that means to all those in need in 1Malaysia!

I sincerely hope that we will see reforms in this area!

BERI SEDEKAH – PANGGIL MEDIA NAK PUBLISITI (RIAK!)

Most holy books ask you to be private about what you do for the marginalized, the single mothers, the poor, the sick, the orphans, the homeless and the destitute!

It is said ‘let not your right hand know what the left hand does!’

Religiously that is clear enough!

But not in Malaysia – here it has become a professional media circus, an art in itself fit for Hollywood awards!

Tell the whole wide world that you are giving donations or providing a meal or dinner for the underprivileged!

It is shameful that this is being done in full view of the Malaysian media both electronic and print!

We in the NGO world are also guilty of participating in this vulgar display!

I wonder whether the donation blitz is more for the poor and needy or the profile, political or other agenda and aspirations of those indulging in it!

Our politicians, their wives, the rich and powerful seem to be so caught up in their own political and social euphoria that they forget that even the poor, the marginalized, the single mothers, the orphans have their dignity too!

The other pertinent question is whether it is their money that is spent in the first place and are they hoping that these small handouts will wash away the actions of their ‘dark side” or cleanse ‘ill-gotten wealth?’

ALLEGATIONS ON IRCON INTERNATIONAL STAFF GOES TO THE HOME MINISTER!

The Consumers Association of Subang and Shah Alam, Selangor (CASSA) today handed over three memorandums to the Malaysian Home Ministry, the Human Resources Ministry and the Women, Family and Community Development asking them to initiate strict actions against the IRCON International!

The demand is initiated in view a police report and allegations made by a female Malaysian employee and a mother of 4 children that she was called a bitch by a senior member of the IRCON Staff who is a Indian national!

I sincerely thought that India’s Supreme Court judgment (1997) in Vishaka and Others v State of Rajasthan and others  had put into place not only provisions addressing sexual harassment but if one reads the leading judgment it gives a clear provision that women cannot be mistreated or their dignity tarnished by any quarter – period!

Despite that it is most disheartening to realize that IRCON INTERNATIONAL – a company incorporated in India having its Malaysian office in the 9^th Floor of Plaza Sentral in Brickfields and working on the Seremban to Gemas Double Track Railway project is alleged to have failed miserably to uphold the dignity of a Malaysian mother of four children within their office. – CASSA CHIEF - Dr Jacob George

FLASHBACK:

Madam KRISHNAVAENI A/P RENGASAMY NRIC Number – 680518-106128, is a Malaysian and employed as an Office Cleaner and Tea Lady with IRCON INTERNATIONAL Office at Plaza Sentral in Brickfields for the last four years.

On the 7^th of July 2010, at 7pm, she has alleged in a Police Report made at Brickfields Police Station on Wednesday August 11, 2010 that she was called into the office of her superior one Sanjay Kumar and she was asked why she was always complaining about his staff to the IRCON Project Director - Rajesh Tripati.

She alleged that he continued harassing her verbally by saying that she was only a tea lady and office cleaner and must behave as such and not try to behave otherwise.

Madam KRISHNAVAENI RENGASAMY replied that she had not done anything wrong but only brought to the attention of the said head about the ‘shouting and fighting’ of the staff which was very demoralizing to other staff and brought a bad image to visitors to the office.

But according to Madam Krishnavaeni, Sanjay Kumar said arrogantly that no matter what she did the IRCON head here, the MD and the Director of Works and others in Delhi ‘are all in his pocket’ and as such, my complaints against him or his staff will be in vain.

He then complained why his room was not regularly cleaned and the used coffee cups not immediately removed.

I stated that the said room was always cleaned accordingly and if need be he can always call me at any time to clean if the need arises as other officials also do so likewise.

As for the dirty cups I replied that it could be an oversight because the cups could have been left behind the potted plants and as such away from public eye contact.

I however informed him that I will take special note of his observations.

But instead of acknowledging my statement he shouted loudly at me by saying ‘Get out of my room you bitch!’

The above mentioned statement by a superior against a subordinate who is a Malaysian Indian and a mother of four children is not only irresponsible but an abuse.

This is certainly a defamation of my character and my dignity.

I had brought this matter to the head of IRCON International in Malaysia Rajesh Tripati but no action has been taken against this official.

Now, I am traumatized other staff are telling me that I will soon be victimized for making a complaint against a senior official.

I am a single mother of 4 children and I need job security.

It is also important that my image and dignity not be smeared by such a despicable statement by a higher official who should have behaved better.

IRCON International is the official contractors of the Ministry of Railways India working in Malaysia and for foreigners to address a Malaysian employee ‘as a bitch’ is certainly uncalled said CASSA President Datuk Dr Jacob George.

I sincerely urge the Malaysian authorities to investigate these and others allegations of arbitrary dismissals and allegations of sexual abuses at this office with immediate effect.

CASSA will be addressing this matter through an official complaint and memorandum to the Malaysian Home Ministry, the Human Resources Ministry and the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry!

We demand that the said official’s professional visa be immediately terminated by the Home Ministry!

CASSA also urges the Ministry of Railways, India to send a delegation to investigate this and other complaints with immediate effect.

There is another note alleging sexual improprieties with the same office and that note should also be investigated by the Malaysian Police!

While investigations are initiated it is pertinent that the above mentioned staff and others behaving in such despicable manner towards Malaysian employees be immediately removed from Malaysia!

Meanwhile several Malaysian MPs and Women groups have called on CASSA to give support on this matter!

They have asked to be included in the joint Memorandum to be sent to the Malaysian and Indian Government on this matter!

My late Grandfather was a well respected and connected educationist, a peer of the first two prime ministers and one who played a vital role in the Malaysian education system pre and post independence!

I still remember fondly the discussions he used to have with our founding father, Tunku Abdul Rahman and their ‘gang’ at our home in Sungei Petani in the fifties and early sixties!

The interesting thing about all of them were despite the racial and religious diversity of the composition of those who gathered at my grandfather’s home all of them were extremely close to one another as they discussed issues over tea and cakes and meals often laughing and joking!

There were no sacred cows!

But that was pre and post independence and before the ‘Father of Modern Racism’ entrenched his evil and dictatorial mark on our political system, the judiciary, the executive and the legislature!

And thereafter, we have been on a spiraling down course battering polarization, race relations and direct, indirect and vulgar racism!

Fast forward – 2010 - The statements that came from two educationists from Johor and another from Kedah were not isolated incidents!

The statements and comments have hurt and several police reports have already being made!

For some inexplicable reason instead of condemning the said statements and taking severe punitive action against the perpetrators we have been making contradicting, foolish and politically incorrect statements!

We seem to have apologists making statements and others devoid of statesmanship setting up taskforces and for what purpose?

All that was needed was a severe rebuke!

But none came except in-actions, denials, apologetics, diversions and it has now created utter contempt for those who hold leadership positions in the country!

Such behavior and atmosphere after 53 years of independence say only one thing – we have failed as a nation!

Some among us in power circles – have failed to show total and undivided commitment to 1Malaysia by condemning outright such remarks, warning all in the Education ministry that those found guilty of racists tendencies will be sacked!

I now wait to see if the architect of Malaysia’s 1Malaysia policy will take control of the situation and address the rot!

We should know - charity and sensitivity should start at home with Malaysians be they Malay, Chinese , Indians Sabahans or Sarawakians - not thousands of miles away in West Asia under the spotlight of international media!

As the local sayings go – ‘Kera di hutan di beri susu, anak dirumah mati kebuloran!’ – ‘Monkeys in the woods are given milk while one’s own child dies of starvation!’

The recent resurrection of racism and racists tendencies immediately calls for a re-look of the Race Relations Act which I called for as early as 2000!

In 2009 we were given an indication that we will be tabling such an act!

Unfortunately, certain quarters ‘chickened out!’

Some even had the ‘audacity and stupidity’ to say that there was no need for it!

Worst, ‘that race relations cannot be forced through legislation!’

What they forgot is - we are not legislating relationships but providing a legal framework what can be said and what cannot in a multi racial and religious nation!

Respect, acceptance, sensitivity and tolerance is a two way street – We should never forget that!

ABUSE OF POLICE REPORTS FOR POLITICAL MOTIVES – IGP ASKED TO TAKE ACTION!

The Consumers Association of Subang and Shah Alam Selangor (CASSA) today appealed to the Inspector of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan to take action on any quarter abusing the system of police reports for private political agenda and to undermine political opponents!

CASSA makes this call in view recent upsurge of individuals and political groups abusing the system of making reports for undermining their political opponents!

There are also allegations that some of them are privately financed individuals doing a political bidding for their political masters!’

CASSA is especially concerned about the police report made against deputy minister Datuk M. Saravanan being involved in the supply of college girls to prominent people for sex!

We are disgusted with the politician who made the said report for his failure to make available the evidence to support his bizarre and unsubstantiated allegations against the deputy minister!

His allegations and statements also undermines the system of law and order and the image and duty of the Malaysian police!

In view of his reluctance to produce or provide the evidence for his wild allegations we urge the Police to instead charge the said politician for making a false police report in the public interest!

Such action will deter future political predators from abusing the system of police reports to conduct a media trial to politically assassinate their political opponents.

CASSA has worked with the deputy minister in the middle of this allegations for over two decade on major issues pertaining to the rights, interest and needs of marginalized communities and consumer affairs and are herewith shocked to hear of such a blatant allegations which we believe has absolutely no substance whatsoever!

As far as CASSA is concerned this is a ‘political assassination’ - no more, no less and the maker of that police report should be immediately charged for making a false police report!

CASSA also wants the police to investigate the said politician in view recent allegations from members of his own party.

A foreign diplomat friend was so shocked that race relations and the culture of political engagement here has deteriorated drastically!

And he was right as two recent incidents involving two individuals in professions or ‘highly respected callings’ have created embarrassment!

One was a ‘man of the cloth’ and my theological understanding of a ‘man of the cloth’ is a religious man of peace, of love, dedication, fair play, just and above party politics!

A person who is expected to be a peacemaker, a guide to others, and a person of a holy order committed to be a catalyst for moderation and good clean values and ethics!

Simply put – ‘a man of God!’

But no, this man was devious as several years ago he made preposterous claims which lead to serious ‘stand off’ of fear and tension, of anxiety and madness - which could have resulted in violence but he was left off even without ‘a slap on the wrist!’

Today, and strange in a holy month where prayer, fasting, good deeds, reflection should be the order - he has again indulged in his favorite past time of indulging in fabrication and lies!

He claims he knows of people who have drawn up an alternate constitution that abolishes Malay special rights and removes Islam as the official religion of the country.

Only an absolute idiot or a ‘mental retard’ will make such a statement!

Any constitutional expert will tell you that ‘this man of the cloth’ is certainly ignorant of our parliamentary system.

Even a first year Law student will tell you to change any article in the constitution requires 2/3 majority and to replace the constitution requires a referendum!

Is he above the law that no action has still being taken against him?

If this was not bad enough we now have a member of the teaching profession indulging in another frolic!

It has been alleged that on 12 August, one Hajah Siti Inshah Mansor, the principal of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra in Kulai, allegedly described her students as penumpang (passengers) and told her Chinese students to return to China and compared her Indian students with dogs.

It is a disgrace that she is the principle of a school which carries the name of Malaysia’s founding father and first Prime Minister, a man of peace, love, sacrifice, dedication and a father of all Malaysians!

You do not need to be a rocket scientist to know that she has also indeed hurt and harmed young, vulnerable and impressionable minds.

She has sown the seeds of racism and of prejudice!

Worst, a profession that is very much respected has been smeared and dragged through the muddy waters of racism and prejudice!

At a time when Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak is walking the ‘length and breath’ of the nation including Sabah and Sarawak preaching his homilies of 1Malaysia, we have two despicable individuals who are doing everything to rubbish his efforts!

By the way, I cannot but be curious to know what the Minister of Education; Muhyiddin Yassin has done to address the ‘Hajah Siti Inshah Mansor racist outburst?’

After all did not this same Muhyiddin Yassin warn the MCA to be sensitive to the needs of other races in Malaysia?

Is he also not the deputy prime minister of Malaysia which comprises of over 27 million people of all races and religions?

In a few weeks time we will celebrate again our National Day Celebrations and these incidents and racist outbursts have sadly removed any awe of festivity and replaced it with one of sadness, anxiety and fear!

TIMELY ADVICE FROM WILLIAM CHENG!

I had the golden opportunity to meet ACCCIM President William Cheng in the early 90’s in Penang!

I acted for a Singaporean businessman who was interested in a property William Cheng had an interest in Langkawi, Kedah.

Through that matter – I gained insight and respect for his high ethical standards, stewardship, knowledge and wisdom!

So I cannot but respect his observations!

I agree that in Malaysia after the last general elections the political parties ‘who lost big time’ could not accept their bitter defeat at the ballot box!

Instead of conducting a post mortem on what went wrong and addressing ‘the slips’ and ‘unacceptable political behavior’ with a holistic change and preparing for the next general elections - these groups continue ‘the spats’ and it is really shameful to see ‘how low’ they have gone!

It is as if they have learnt nothing from that tsunami of defeat!

To make matters worst, we have third parties under the NGO groupings of business, consumer and race equally making seditious and hurtful statements aided and abetted by a vernacular mainstream racist newspaper!

Many seem to forget that Malaysia is made up of over 27 million people of all races and a majority in Sabah and Sarawak are worst off than we are in the Peninsula and watching our childish and silly political games unleashed to gain political mileage and reckoning and at what and whose expense?

Uncle Cheng, who is also chairman and chief executive officer of The Lion Group is absolutely right when he says that the politicking going on makes it difficult to convince foreign investors to invest their monies into Malaysia.

Only an absolute idiot will put his money in a country where political arguments and infighting are splashed on the front pages of newspapers and on TV on an almost daily basis giving an impression we are a ‘state at war’ and where ‘a racist group’ makes all kinds of unkind attacks and regular police reports (even during this holy month!) as if the Malaysian police have nothing better to do!

My appeal to premier Najib Tun Razak – the architect of 1Malaysia to immediately rein in these forces before irreparable damage is unleashed and done to divert all our efforts to attract foreign investments and investors to Malaysia!

Malaysia has too many politicians but few statesmen - sad!

True, the national and reported statistics for 2010 say that there were 65 abandoned baby cases!

True, 2009 had 79 reported cases!

Yes, from statistics of 2005 - 472 babies were abandoned throughout the country, of which, 258 were dead and 214 were still alive!

I am saddened and hurt knowing these - as most peace loving and God fearing Malaysians!

But I am also furious about the hype played up by a particular vernacular mainstream media and other over zealous pronouncements by politicians!

Malaysia has many politicians in many shades and colors but few statesmen!

I am troubled hearing that police are expected to classify abandoned baby cases under Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder) and under Section 307 (attempted murder)?

Basically it means that those responsible for babies who die would be investigated for murder while others who abandoned babies found alive would be classified and investigated as attempted murder.

Legally a ‘tall order’ as my learned friends at the AG Chambers know – that once it goes to court and if you have a extremely good defense lawyer provided we do not have Malaysia’s infamous media trial and political pronouncement by Malaysia’s highly self righteous politicians who for some inexplicable reason show not the same ‘fire and brimstone approach’ towards corruption and the many forms of abuse we see and read daily!

So if murder and attempted chargers fail will another ‘more spiritual group’ advocate we move on to ‘honor killing’ like we hear in other lands?

It is a pity that I have yet to hear voices crying out to initiate ‘safe havens’ to assist those in and facing this dilemma without criminalizing them!

I have yet to see we addressing these young women as ‘victims’ needing our assistance and help – our shoulder to cry upon rather than to hear our condemnation!

On another note - Let us also stop making statements asking neighbors to ‘spy’ on another pertaining to these cases!

Already there is too much fear, anxiety, confusion, shame faced by those having these dilemma without the ‘powers that be’ increasing the tempo!

Can we work without racial and religious prejudice and initiate an atmosphere of love, forgiveness and rehabilitation free from the media and politicians’ self righteous utterances!

WHO CRIED FOR THAT DEAD NEPALI LAD?

We are a ‘failed nation’ the way we micro manage foreign workers in this country!

It is shocking that the need for a minimum wage structure is not all that is troubling in this sector!

We have two powerful ministries but the problem of foreign workers keeps reoccurring causing a smear on what was once a progressive and professional nation!

To be exact – the shenanigans that made millions after getting minutes from powerful politicians were not there!

The politicians who also made millions from foreign workers employment in this country also were not there!

Neither was the officialdom that makes billions from levies from this target group!

So I am not the least surprised in the land where there are millions of undocumented foreigners there was also a two-day protest by more than 5,000 foreigners at a factory workers’ enclave, in Tebrau Industrial area in Johor!

It eventually turned violent I am told when a guard post was destroyed and stones and rubbish were hurled at bystanders.

My sources reveal that the protesters, comprising workers mainly from Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh and India, even used fire extinguishers against bystanders and third parties!

There were claims of injuries to the public!

What triggered these outbursts?

I am advised that the foreign workers had protested against the management of a factory, following the death of a Nepali worker.

It is also stated that there were issues pertaining to the need for higher wages from the management and a mini-clinic to be built for workers health needs!

But what caused the death of that Nepali worker?

I am certain we are not interested in that.

Perhaps, the shenanigans of businessmen and politicians and their political masters are more interested how more money can be made from foreign workers one way or another!

After all political ambitions of the unemployed and the parasites need to be fulfilled.

And such theirs and their political masters appetite for the luxurious things that proceeds from the trafficking of workers can buy – luxury cars, huge bungalows, a younger wife or wives perhaps, holidays abroad, expensive cigars, golf tours and such!

Vulgar nothing more nothing less!

Who prays for that worker who died?

One wonders if conscience is dead and honor no more in this land of ours?

Disgusting too mild a word!

Are you aware that several years ago - we were taxing the imported equipments brought in for people with special needs!

Then I went berserk thanks to pointers by an accountant friend from the United States of America who shared her disgust with me in Penang!

Memorandums followed and to my delight - an embarrassed Ministry of Finance then addressed that issue!

This afternoon I bring to the attention of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development that this kind of corporate behaviour is disgusting!

Is there no end to the greed for profiteering?

Is there no end to the apathy and gross insensitiveness shown?

I hope heads roll!

‘Dear Dr Jacob George,

I went for a knee surgery on 12 August and currently I am on crutches. This is my first time to experience the handicap world.

I booked 2-way flight from Subang – JB - Subang via Fire Fly Airline with the booking reference no: SZDSBG. Since it is a real challenge for me to walk with crutches from the boarding gate to the plane, I requested for a wheel chair.

I was very surprised that the Airline (Fire Fly) was charging a fee for wheel chair services. It is not about paying the minimal fee of RM12 per usage but the principle behind it.

I strongly feel that it is not appropriate to charge the handicap!

This is more so for those companies in the service industry!

Before my surgery, I did not think much about the handicap. It is fortunate that I went through this experience and know how it feels.

It is a very basic issue and I hope you can look into this matter to make a difference for those handicaps in Malaysia and others visiting from abroad using our service industry!

I sincerely wish the Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the nation of India on the occasion of her 64th Independence Day, which is also the 63rd Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Interestingly, I noted that that the Prime Minister touched on India’s strong economy, which remains a big concern for the poor and middle class in the wake of rising food prices and drought-like situation in many parts of the country since last year.

I am aware that India has successfully withstood the global economic slowdown and her economy thanks to his leadership is far better than most other countries in the world!

No one thus doubts that as a result of these India stands among the fastest growing economies of the world.

As the world’s largest democracy, I pray that India will become an example for many other countries to emulate.

I pray that her citizens have the right to make their voices heard in international fora that she get a permanent place in the United Nations Security council along with Brazil!

But I also pray that being an economical rising power India will not emulate the mistakes of arrogance, parochialism, lack of transparency, good governance and accountability!

I pray that no matter how big or small an issue is – that India will do the right thing!

On India’s Independence Day I wish for two things immediately:

That the Ministry of Railways, India will publish an advertisement in the Malaysian newspapers that they have no knowledge nor have they appointed any one by the notorious name of one Malaysian BALA DEVAN S/0 A. THEAIVENDIRAM (above) to undertake any job task for the said ministry!

And that official from IRCON INTERNATIONAL who is alleged to have called a Malaysian mother of 4 children ‘a bitch’ and who allegedly claimed he has ‘the IRCON MD, DW and PD ‘all in his pocket’ have disciplinary action initiated against him before Malaysian NGO’s and MPs address this matter any further!
